Psalm 48:9 and 12-14
9 O God, we meditate on your unfailing love as we worship in your Temple.
12 Go, inspect the city of Jerusalem. Walk around and count the many towers. 13 Take note of the fortified walls, and tour all the citadels, that you may describe them to future generations. 14 For that is what God is like. He is our God forever and ever, and he will guide us until we die.
Love creates.
If you’d know love, you must know its creations.
Love’s creations protect, provide, and communicate something transcendent.
Artists love by creating art.
Leaders love by creating pathways.
Parents love by creating a home.
Friends love by creating connection.
Pastors love by creating spiritual community.
When you spend time meditating on their creations, you’re meditating on their love.
You discover what their love is like.
You gain understanding of who they are.
Inspect God’s creation.
This is what God is like.
Nature. Math. Music. Energy. Emotion.
Church. Marriage. Family. You.
This is how you know He loves you.
Describe them to future generations.
Describe God’s unfailing love.
What does your love create for others?
What has God created that shows you His love?
